Embark on a 8-day trekking journey that takes you through the heart of Morocco’s Atlas Mountains. From exploring traditional Berber villages to conquering the summit of Mount Toubkal, North Africa’s highest peak, this tour blends cultural immersion with breathtaking landscapes and exhilarating adventure.
- On arrival at Marrakech airport, you will be met by our local guide.
- After your reception you will be transferred to your hotel in Marrakech, where dinner will be served. This will be
your first night in this vibrant city before starting the trek.
- After breakfast at the hotel, you’ll drive to Oukaïmeden, passing through the beautiful Ourika valley and small
Berber villages. In Oukaïmeden (2,860 m), you’ll meet the trekking team: muleteers, cook and guide. You’ll also
visit ancient rock carvings before enjoying lunch. - In the afternoon, you’ll start your trek through the Oukaïmeden valley and climb to the Tizi N’Ou Addi pass (2,980
m), where you’ll have a magnificent view of the Atlas mountains. From there, you’ll descend on an easy trail to
Tacheddirt (2,314 m), the last village in the Imenane valley. You’ll spend the night in a traditional guesthouse.
1 hour 40 minutes drive, 4 hours 30 minutes walk.
- After breakfast, you’ll start your descent from Tacheddirt through the Imenane valley, passing Berber villages and
terraced fields. You’ll stop for tea in Ikkiss, then continue to the Tizi n’Aguersioual pass (1,900 m) for beautiful
views of the Matate mountains. - You’ll then descend into the valley for lunch by the river at 1,500 meters. The trek continues through the Matate
Valley to the Tizi Oudite Pass (2,000 m) with stunning views of the colorful Azzaden Valley and its traditional
Berber villages. - The day ends in Aït Aissa (1,800 m), where you’ll spend the night in a local gîte and enjoy a delicious Berber
dinner.
Duration: 6.5-7 hours walking.
- After breakfast, you’ll head towards the Azib Tamssoul orchards, passing through a beautiful cedar forest. The hike takes you to the stunning Tamssoulte waterfalls (2,640 m), where you’ll stop to admire the view and take photos.
- After visiting the waterfalls, you’ll return to Tizi Oussem and continue on a scenic trail that climbs to the Tizi M’zik Pass (2,485 m). From here, you’ll enjoy incredible views of the Imlil valley before beginning a gradual descent to
the village of Targa Imoula (1,775 m). - You’ll arrive at Riad , a charming and comfortable guesthouse. After settling in, you’ll have free time to explore the
village before enjoying a delicious dinner and a relaxing evening.
Duration: 6 hours walking.
- After a traditional breakfast at the Riad , we start the day at 9 am. Our bags will be loaded on mules by the support
team (muleteers and cook), and with our guide we’ll begin the trek along mule tracks towards the village of Armed
(1,850 m). - We’ll continue our trek to the marabout of Sidi Chamharouch (2,350 m), a revered saint known as the Sultan of the
Devil, often visited by pilgrims seeking spiritual healing. Here we’ll enjoy a delicious lunch prepared by our cook. - After lunch, we’ll continue towards the Toubkal refuge, passing through the impressive landscapes of the Atlas Mountains. We’ll stop for a traditional tea at Imi n’Tifrite before continuing to the refuge, passing by the Isgan n’Wagouts.
- At the Neltner Refuge, located at 3,207 meters, we will spend the night in shared dormitories with bunk beds.
- Duration: 5 hours walking.
- An early start is essential for this challenging day. We’ll wake up around 4 a.m. to start the climb. The first part of
the climb takes us to the Akhbi n’Tizi Pass (3,700 m), to the left of the refuge. From there, we’ll climb gently
through a wide corridor to the Toubkal Col (3,950 m), where we may be treated to a breathtaking sunrise. - From the col, we’ll follow the ridge to the summit of Mount Toubkal (4,167 m). After about 3.5 hours of climbing,
we’ll take a well-deserved break and enjoy a picnic while taking in the breathtaking views of the Atlas Mountains,
lush valleys and surrounding Berber villages. You’ll also see Djbel Siroura (3,500 m), known as the “gateway to the desert. - After a break, we’ll begin our descent, taking about 2 hours to return to the refuge. We’ll stop for tea and a meal at the marabout of Sidi Chamharouch (2,350 m), a revered saint often visited by spiritual pilgrims.
- Finally, we’ll descend for another 1.5 to 2 hours to reach Imlil, where we’ll spend the night in a riad.
- Duration: 5 to 6 hours ascent, 3 to 4 hours descent.
- After a delicious breakfast, we’ll drive through the stunning Atlas Mountains, passing picturesque
Berber villages and terraced fields, heading towards Marrakech. Upon arrival, - Meet with the guide to start the visit of Marrakech or as we call it the red city, the second oldest
Imperial City and the “Pearl of the South”. Founded by the Almoravids at the end of the 11th century,
MARRAKESH sits in a lush oasis nestled at the foot of the snow-capped Atlas Mountains. - Start your visit for Koutoubia Mosque and its Garden then to Bahia Palace.
- Free time for lunch in the famous square Jamaa El Fna and continue through the alleys in the old
Medina till The Medrassa Ben Youssef, visit this beautiful monument, then back to the square always
through narrow streets of the Medina. - Free time for your own discover/shooping or enjoy a cup of Tea at one of the terraces over the square.
- Late afternoon, return to your hotel for dinner and overnight.
- After breakfast, and accordingly to your flight timetable, transfer to the airport of Marrakech
